EDIT 12/16/11: GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED — WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER IN A NEW POST TOMORROW. THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!
Hooray, it’s here! Today is the annual December Giveaway Day at Sew, Mama, Sew! A hearty welcome to all SMS readers. I won’t keep you long today, but do take a look around and, if you like what you see, I’d love to have you as a subscriber (links upper right). I typically post a couple of times a month and share my adventures in food and craft, offering up recipes, lots of food photos, sewing project pics, and discoveries/lessons learned along the way. I try to keep this a happy, thoughtful, appetizing(!), and occasionally funny place. For a taste of what this blog is all about, check out this post: Carefully Edited Slices of Life
For now, let’s get on with the giveaway! Up for grabs is a nice little assortment of goodies: 2 mini embroidery hoops, 2 flour sack dish towels (for embroidering!), and a jar of 20+ colors of floss. Then for some handmade goodness, I’ve added a little needle-felted sheep, along with some fabric-covered clothespins (leftover from the photo booth at my wedding). Lastly, in another piece of post-wedding craft supply overflow, a little spool of green bakers twine. The wooden chopping block stays with me… 😉
For a chance to win, leave a comment and answer me this question: What would you name the sheep if he were to go home with you??? (I’ll give an extra entry to anyone who can guess the name *I* would give him. And yes, I realize that, not having horns, the sheep is more likely a she. But look at that face. Clearly a boy. A confused sheep perhaps. I digress.)
Details: Winner will be chosen by the random number generator. Giveaway is open until December 16 at 5 p.m. PST, and international readers are more than welcome to enter!
Be sure to go back to Sew, Mama, Sew! and check out all the other wonderful giveaways taking place today. Thanks for stopping by!
I would name the sheep Agnes Day (a play on Agnus Dei). 🙂 I hope you don’t mind that it’s a girl’s name! 😀
His name is Boris. No, it is, he may have told you his name is something else but it’s actually Boris.
I couldn’t think of a good name, so I asked my almost 4yr old daughter and she said: Carl. So there ya go, and if it by some chance he is a she, I guess she’ll be Carlotta? 🙂
My son would name him “Sheep” just like our elf is “Him”.
*I too have a giveaway for giveaway day(week)! Stop by for some fabric! Allthingsfee.blogspot.com*
Oh how CUTE. I love those clothespins! How adorable! I’m also addicted to floss 🙂
I had no idea what to name the sheep but I asked my daughter just now and she said “Bob.. but it would come out more like Bahahahahahahb when he said it!” how cute!
Wishing you a fabulous holiday season and thank you for the chance to win!
krencamp (at) gmail (dot) com
I would name him Duncan – Makes me think of wind-swept moors covered in gorse and broom!
Thanks!
Oh my goodness, that sheep is adorable. I am terrible at thinking of names (that’s how I ended up with a rabbit named Thumper when I was younger…my mother ended up naming her because it took so long…) My husband would probably name him something punny, like “Lambert.” My kids would name him “Frederick” because they name everything Frederick these days.
I love your blog! I have the same dream…my husband is not exactly on board, though. And we do love our urban life. I’m trying to combine the two but it will take a while… xo
I would name the sheep Jake. :o)
Thank you for a darling give a way.
Have a nice day. :o) Trish
ps. I am having a give a way too.
He’s obviously a lamb, that’s why he’s got no horns! I’d be forced to call him “Timmy” as both my kids are obsessed with a television program about a naughty lamb called Timmy.
If it were up to me, I’d call him Vladamir, but I’m guessing you’d call him Sedrick. 😉
What a fun game!
Hmmmm……Herbert Longjohns is his name. From a long line of Longjohns before him! Fab fab giveaway – so nice to see some ‘personality’ in the items 0 fab indeed!

I think I would name him Shaun from Shaun the Sheep or Timmy from Timmy Time. He is too cute. Also looks male to me 😉
What a fun giveaway – and I love the sheep! I made the mistake of reading some of the other names first and LOVED THEM – that has hampered my creativity (love Boris!). We raise rabbits and they have names like Elvis, Romeo, Nancy and Beatrix. So this little sheep would be named. . .Hampton! He really is a sophisticated sheep. =)
I would name the sheep Paidin which means little Patrick in Irish

mcintoshsusan(at)hotmail.com
I would name him Herby, after the ram that was absolutely scared of me but a good father of many lovely little “Coburger Fuchschaf” lambs, they are dark brown when they are born, it’s a lovely sight in the snow. Sadly Herby ended up partly in the freezer and as sausage in tins.
